The Burleson Police Department has turned social media into a lively crime-busting tool with its clever Bad Guy Bingo campaign.
Launched during the city’s Independence Day Parade, officers shared bingo-style cards featuring faces of suspects with outstanding warrants, encouraging residents to spot and report them.
This creative effort sparked immediate community interest, bringing in a flood of tips.
Within 48 hours, police apprehended six out of nine suspects, thanks to information channeled through direct messages and an anonymous tip line.
Police officials praised local enthusiasm, noting that the game format eased fears about reporting on acquaintances while promoting neighborhood watchfulness.
The department plans to refresh the bingo cards monthly, keeping public engagement high.
Meanwhile, Burleson’s parade and upcoming summer events at the Recreation Center continue to strengthen connections among residents and law enforcement.
